Legal Filings

This morning, Graham met with Mike Nations and Charles McKnight of the law firm Nations, Toman and McKnight LLP located at 1230 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30309 (404) 266-2366. The three of us discussed the procedures for establishing a 501(c)3 both from the perspective of the State of Georgia and the Internal Revenue Service. There was consensus that the "not-for-profit" corporation would be registered as a public charity. There is an expected wait of three to five months to obtain the 501(c)3 designation from the IRS, which is typical for this type of organization, and the planned mission of the organization appears to fully satisfy the qualifying requirements of the IRS. The planned name "League of Hope" was researched and is not registered in the State of Georgia and it appears that the name is available for the entity as the domain names were available also. Additionally, Graham spoke with Robert Arogeti of the accounting firm Habif, Arogeti and Wynne LLp located at Five Concourse Parkway, Suite 1000, Atlanta, Georgia 30328 (404) 892-9651 and he concurred with these assessments. Robert also stated that he may be able to direct us to an accountant that can assist with the required financial statements going forward.
